Hey everyone.  It's Sunday May 18th and I thought I would drop in on you and update this weeks blog with a couple of new announcements.

Okay.  So anyone who is close to me knows that I have been working hard to complete my brainchild.  My facebook group known as Pokemon: The Omega Experience.  This group is the brother group to Pokemon X and Y: Journey to be the Very Best.  It has all new gyms, all new elite four.  We still havent crowned a defending champion.  Which I hope to do next week by way of a soft elimination style tournament.  So henceforth this blog will now cover news about both groups.

Pokemon: The Omega Experience

What seperates this group from all other Facebook Pokemon themed groups is that Omega will feature an RPG style section where people will step into the role of a fledgling trainer traversing the fictional region of Delta Reef.  This section will be run by Admin Tony Bentley, so you guys can find him there in the room.  If you wish to inquire about info regarding that, private message him or me and we will guide you in the right direction as to getting started and what not.

Starting tomorrow I will put up the start of the weekend's tournament - Gauntlet 2.  It will take place Saturday May 24th at 9:30 pm EST.  I will be inviting back both Hugo Alan, who won last month's tournament to act as defending Champion.  Its going to be a every person for their self bracket style elimination.  Last month as grand prize I gave out a whole team of Shiny 6 iv Evee and everyone of it's evoultions!  So who knows what the prize will be this time.  This time I will be inviting people from both groups to participate. Last time we had 18 people that participated which greatly impressed me.  So to navigate there just click on the above link or the link for Pokemon x and y: Journey to be the very best link located here - https://www.facebook.com/groups/603505989740062/

Recently I have been asking members of the groups to help me gather information about the various aspects of Pokemon and to give me a detailed report back to me, so that I could share the information with m readers and viewers.  Today I am going to share the report given to me by Gym Leader Keith Battle.  Keith heads up two Gyms.  Fairy Gym in Journeys and Psychic Gym in Omega.  He is also an admin and helps police the group page as well as creative consultant to the group. I was going to include this with Nicholas Anderson's interview, but decided that it needed really a page of it's own.  Without further adieu Keith Battle....

I was speaking to Jerry the other day and he asked me to research the items that are part of the Pokemon world.  At first I was a little intimidated seeing as there so many groups of items in this game.  After reading up on it, I found it easier to break them up into groups.
Starting out with held items for battling.  I mean come on?  That’s why we breed and train our pokes the way we do, so that we can lay the smack down on our challengers?
So for those of us not familiar how Held Items work, (They are held by a particular pokemon and are used during the course of the battle). Right off the bat there are differences between Held Items and Consumables. Most held items for battle can be used repeatedly during the course of battle, for example : Leftovers, Choice band, and Damp Rock just to name a few. But there are some that can only be used once per battle like: Red Card and Eject Button.
A question that you might be asking yourself is "Why even have a report on items when we’re all the best trainers out there?"  Great question.  On the surface this appears to be a child’s game geared towards a young demographic, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. There is an immense level of strategy that comes into play.  Ask any trainer who has had even just one wifi battle and they will tell you that building a team and breeding for natures requires time and discipline. Which is what brings us back to our topic of items held during battle.
It would literally be a waste of time, effort and energy to breed the perfect Pokemon with the right Nature and Ability only to neglect the appropriate item, which can be the very thing that propels your team to victory.  How many times have we battled someone who was using leftovers?  It only restores 1/6 of your poke’s HP each turn but for those battles that last longer than five minutes, but coupled with say Cradily's Ingrain (that can add another x amount of health points back to your gauge) this steady replenishment of your hitpoints could be the difference between beating a gym leader for their badge and having all your pokes taken out by someone’s “ sweeper”.

There are many items too many to list in this brief commentary, but here's a link to a much larger selction.

Well that’s my two cents on the matter. I’ve got more eggs to hatch. Lol Until next time guys and gals.
Thank you very much Keith for taking time to inform us a little about the world of Items and the significant role they play in the role of Pokemon..

So guys a little bit more then we are done for today.  I would just like to take some time and do a shout out for the other Facebook groups that we partner with.
