and so a year has passed...... Wait what?!?? A freakin year?

Pokemon: The Omega Experience

Hello friends, thank you for taking your time to read up on whats been going on in the world of Pokemon and the world of Pokemon: The Omega Experience.  Well Memorial Day is over and yes it is the unofficial start of Summer.  Summer brings much fun and much caution, with that in mind please if you are out please use sun screen generously. If you are out to the beach or any other place of recreation please observe and respect your environment; such as beware swimming conditions, carry plenty of hydration, respect fire hazards etc.

Gauntlet 6 returned with a not so wonderous applause, but it came back our very own Gabrielle Alexis Matos placed first and our very own Matt Johnson placed second.  Congrats to you both.  Gabrielle netted two Amiibos.  Mario and Link and Matt netted 30 perfect IV Egg Move Pokes which he has yet to pick up.

With that over with no on the rest of the show.  May of this year is the one year anniversary of Pokemon: The Omega Experience inception into Facebook.  Our Instagram, Twitter, Blog and Facebook cannot be doing any better. We managed to gain a new Youtuber to help us and his name is Aaron Brashear.  He comes highly respected by our own Matt Johnson.  If you have not seen any of Aaron's work please go to   https://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fchannel%2FUCCZ7zjXEdNBkGa5jQOavd_A&h=SAQGv2_Ol    and check it out for his Youtube postings.  He will be replacing Brad Maynes who will be no longer be affiliated with Omegas due to breach of contract on his end.  Aaron Brashear is 17 years old and hes from Simi Valley California.  If you want to visit his Twitter it is https://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftwitter.com%2FAggroAggron&h=GAQEoRN1H

Recently with May came a host of giveaways, with two more to cap off the month.  Congrats to Fernado Oneill Nieves Barreto for winning the New Banner contest as pictured above.  This in time will become to new banner for all things Omega with the addition of the omega symbol.  Again congrats  Fernado has won two amiibos which he will receive shortly.  If you see him in group be sure to thank him for a job well done !!

So continued with last months Blog update I am currently playing old pokemon games.  A few months ago I started and finished Pokemon Heart Gold and the newest game I have been playing was Pokemon Leafgreen.

Pokemon Leafgreen/Firered were the updated versions of Pokemon Red/Blue/Green that appeared originally on the Gameboy.  Leafgreen and Firered were a welcome additions to the Gameboy Advance.  Pokemon LG/FR revolutionized the Pokemon games of that time.  New technology brought better gameplay and with updated software came better and updated visuals for the Pokemon and the moves.

Here are some difference in visuals

and here are some differences inbetween Pokemon Version Red and Firered

-FireRed contains 9 extra islands known as the Sevii Islands which can first be accessed after obtaining the 8th gym. Two of those islands can only be accessed through Nintendo Events.
-The Pokemon in FireRed have genders and IV's and can gain EV's (if you don't know what these are and you aren't into competitive battling don't worry about them).
-Pokemon can be bred once you gain access to one of the Sevii Islands.
-There are certain people spread around the game known as Move Tutors who teach certain moves to certain Pokemon, there is also a Move Rememberer who can teach any move that a Pokemon could have learned at an earlier level and a Move Deleter who can delete HM moves from a Pokemon.
-Some Johto Pokemon may be caught, bred or evolved into after beating the Elite Four and obtaining the National Dex.
-The Elite Four becomes stronger after obtaining the National Dex.
-Moltres can be caught before Victory Road.
-Much more Bag Space than Red
-Different TM set.
and most importantly
-Comes with a Wireless Adapter that allows Communication with Pokemon LeafGree, Emerald and other FireRed Cartridges.

Pokemon: Leafgreen
First and foremost for those that have never played a Pokemon game, this is an excellent game to start the series.  You can either grab this Gem through emulator or pick it up cheap through Amazon or Ebay.  Make sure you get a legit copy because both Amazon and Ebay are chalk full of rip off games.  Sad but true, I got two last year while one of the buyers swore up and down he only sold legit copies and he gave me yet another fake, but whatever. That's another adventure all to its own.

As I started this game I picked my favorite starter of the series Bulbasaur.  I like Bulbasaur because it acquires such moves that are important as Leech Seed and Poison which are critical in helping catch other wild Pokemon, by adding a drain element plus a status such as Poison Powder then Toxic.  Next try and catch the proper pokes in your new adventure Pidgey should be good, Pikachu in Virodian Forest, Rattata, Caterpie in Virodian Forest, etc.. Your first visit should be Brock in Pewter City which if you level up either Bulbasaur or if you picked Squirtle you should have no problems if you have leveled them up properly.

Pewter City's Famous Gym Leader Brock

Next you should head to Cerulean City and defeat Misty who has the Cascade Badge.  She will not be difficult if you have acquired a Pikachu or you still have your Bulbasaur.  Her water types will basically be ineffective against you as long as you do not underestimate her.  Take time to search out several new Pokemon inbetween such as Jigglypuff, Spearow, Clafairy, Zubat and if you have luck and patience Onix!

The one and only Cerulean City's very own Gym Leader Misty

Also Cerulean City is famous for Nugget Bridge.  This bridge is famous for when you get through its several trainers the Lead trainer also a Team Rocket Grunt will be waiting for you as a prize a gold nugget worth 5,000 Yen, Gold, or whatever coinage the Pokemon world uses.  Yet you will have to battle.  For poor/lazy scripting if you are beat (which I implore that you allow this to happen).  You can acquire as many as gold nuggets as your pride will allow you to gain.  I gained 50 before I quit.  Just place the weakest Pokemon in your party and take out every other Pokemon in your party, so that defeat will come easy for you and do not hang your head to low.

Well thats it for now check in next month when we unveil new and ongoing things for our world of Pokemon.
